After both Keitaro and Naru fail their entrance exams for Tokyo
U, they both become depressed and decide to take a vacation.
Both individuals embark on their own vacation, but coincidentally
they both pick the same vacation spot, Kyoto. And coincidentally
they run into each other, but they both break their glasses
and have no idea who each other is! Will their harmless tourist
vacation turn into a romantic fiesta? Or will their Hinata buddies
get their in time?
|
Keitaro and Naru both discover each others' identities after
their glasses were repaired. But instead of huffing and yelling
at each other (well, okay there was a little of that),
they decide to keep touring together and just have a good time.
But wait, who is this quirky little girl? Mutsumi? Hmm, it appears
that Naru and Keitaro have another person to relate to because
she has failed her exams three times in a row! And uh oh Naru,
it looks like Keitaro and Mutsumi are getting along pretty well!
Will Keitaro give up on Naru and instead go for Mutsumi? Or
will he confess his love to Naru under a midnight sky?
|
Kaolla Su has
created yet another one of her brilliant inventions. This one
was made to read peoples' minds. And gee, what are the Hinata
residents going to do with this? Well, see how Keitaro and Naru
really feel for each other, of course! When Naru uses the machine,
the Hinata girls see some mysterious man, which Naru later learns
is one of her graduating classmates. Kintaro is his name, and
gettin' girls is his game! He challanges Keitaro to a battle with
the mind reader device of who can win Naru over first. Kintaro
wins, but is that what will really happen? Or does the real Naru
have different feelings? |
After a little
cleaning, an old-school video game system is found! Keitaro decides
that it is time for a little break so he starts to play it. But
sooner than later it seems that everyone is envolved in it. But
yet, they are all sleeping! It seems that everyone in the Hinata
is in this dream and they all have their parts. Each person is
a character from the video game and all of them must stop the
evil king from seducing Princess Naru! Will they be able to save
the princess from the evil king? |

After
Keitaro and Naru embark on their journey to Kyoto, they accidentally
bump into each other and break each others' glasses. Without having
any clue as to who the person right next to them is, they both
decide to journey together and see the tourist attractions. After
more than several coincidental occurrences, such as sitting
next to each other on the same bus, staying at the same hotel,
etc, they decide to continue traveling together. That is, until
they get their vision back! As soon as that happens they get into
a fight, but make up a little bit and continue their sightseeing
together. |
After
Keitaro and Naru meet Mutsumi, they find out that she lives way
on the other side of Japan! Due to her excessive feinting and
medical problems, Naru and Keitaro decide that it is best if they
escort her back home. They take a cruise to get Mutsumi home,
but Mutsumi decides that it is quicker to take a raft there. Well,
then a typhoon hit and the trio soon finds themselves fighting
to survive! Then, before they know what happened, they drift ashore
to an island. Mutsumi feints, again, and as Naru goes to get some
water, Mutsumi accidentally kisses Keitaro. Naru sees
it, gets upset, but later Mutsumi apologizes and Naru forgives
them both. Oh wait, they get a turtle too! |
After the Hinata
girls use the mind reading device on Naru, they discover that
she has been having fantasies about a mysterious man! Everyone
later discovers that that man is actually a wealthy classmate
of hers named Kintaro! Kintaro is bright, wealthy, and charming,
how could Keitaro possibly stand a chance against him? Well, Keitaro
and Kinaro make a challange against each other with the mind reading
devices to see who could win Naru over first. Kintaro wins, but
the result is pointless. What actually happens is that Naru and
Keitaro have tickets to the new amusement park so the whole Hinata
group decides to go! Round one a stalemate, but who knows what
the future may bring. |
At the beginning
of the episode, Motoko is informed by one of her Kendo buddies
that she is becoming a weakling. Motoko, as concerned as can be,
decides that the only way to get back to the woman she used to
be is by getting rid of Keitaro from the Hinata Apartments so
she may concentrate on her practices. Right before she does a
flying death slash (or something of that nature) on Keitaro he
falls asleep. And during one of Motoko's meditations it seems
that she became a part of a single dream that inhabited all of
the Hinata residents. Throughout the dream Motoko was able to
understand a bit more about Keitaro and there was a little foreshadowing
with Motoko and her older sister. |

I
like this episode, one of my personal favorites! I loved how Naru
and Keitaro coincidentally ride on the same bus together,
and coincidentally take the same trip to Kyoto, and coincidentally
stay in the hotel together. It was like all those coincidences
was just fate trying to bring them together, either that or they
just found the same brochure, LoL. What I also liked about this
episode was that it shows how Keitaro and Naru really should get
along well, but due to many unfortunate circumstances (such as
Keitaro being branded as a perverted moron :) ), it is just not
the case. There are a few iffy parts, though, about this episode.
Such as how I find it rather difficult to accept that neither
Keitaro or Naru asked for each other's names. Or that they couldn't
tell who each other were from their voices. Oh and I almost forgot,
this is the first episode of Seta! One of my favorite characters!
Overall, this is certainly an excellent episode, very enjoyable!

This
is a pretty fun episode I must admit. At first Naru and Keitaro
decide to escort Mutsumi home but then later become stranded on
an island (which they later learn is actually Mutsumi's backyard
:) ). This episode is actually quite hilarious, with all the Hinata
residents trying to find Keitaro and Naru, and watching as the
three ronins fight for their lives in a vicious typhoon... okay
well it is much funnier than it sounds, k? Anywho, overall this
is a very good episode. It is always interesting to meet a new
face in a show, and Mutsumi is certainly an interesting one! That
and the romance and comedy are quite enough to keep most anyone
entertained. And it is especially worthwhile to watch to see Shinobu
try and sell matches to raise enough money to get home... she's
sooo cute!!! Quality episode! 8.5/10 |
The first time
I watched this episode I thought it was rather funny, but not
anything particularly great. When I watched it a few more times,
same thing, except that it was kinda annoying too. Kintaro is
a pretty funny character, but has a way of really getting on your
nerves sometimes. I thought he was a rather creative character,
though, because Kintaro is basically Keitaro only in reverse.
Instead of being dumb, perverted, and
rather poor, he is intelligent, charming, and incredibly
wealthy. I think what this episode basically shows is that, with
a little more confidence, Keitaro could have Naru in a second.
This is because in her fantasies she falls for Kintaro, and in
the 'challange' she falls for Kintaro as well, but in the end
she doesn't end up being with him. Instead she tells Keitaro,
"I thought you would know how I feel by now." That much
was quite interesting in the episode, but the humor factor gets
rather old quick and it is unlikely you will watch this episode
all too much. Overall, good, but not up to Hinata house standards.

This episode
is friggin' hilarious! For starters, this entire episode is a
mock parody of an old-school RPG video game (such as the original
final fantasies). Keitaro was the brave and noble knight (laugh),
Shinobu was the nurse that heals all their boo boos (double laugh),
and Motoko was stuck wearing a very revealing warrior costume
(triple laugh). Then you even get graced with some Godzilla humor
as the mini-twin Mutsumis sing a song to raise the 'legendary
dragon (tamu)' to save the Princess Naru. A whoooole lot of laughs
in this episode, as it was obviously intented to be lighthearted
and funny. Although it doesn't move the plot very far, it wasn't
all just goofball laughs and pointless weirdness. Motoko was told
that she was getting weak, so she was going to get Keitaro out
of the Hinata House for good. But during the dream it seems aparent
that she understands a bit more about Keitaro and she decides
not to torment or get him out of the apartments. There is also
a bit of foreshadowing of a possible story between Motoko and
her sister. Overall this episode is just too funny, but because
the story doesn't move too much during this ep I have to take
a little bit of points off. A near close to perfect episode! 9.5/10 |
