When Keitaro Urashima fails his entrance exams to get into Tokyo University for the second time, he's officially an unemployed and uneducated slacker. To make things worse, his parents have kicked him out of his house. Fortunately his grandmother owns the fabulous Hinata House and Keitaro is going to be the new caretaker. What he doesn't know is the lodge is actually a girls dorm and he's the only guy around! Most guys would kill to live with five cute girls, but if Keitaro's not careful, this job will kill him.

Bumbling Keitaro Urashima is finally getting used to being the landlord of a romp-filled, all-girls dorm. Although academically challenged, Keitaro is determined to pass his impending college entrance exam. Passing means he'll finally get into the prestigious Tokyo University with the girl of his dreams, Naru Narusegawa. Failure means humiliation - and moving back home. With the bright and beautiful Naru as his tutor, he might just stand a chance at success - as long as he can keep his mind on his studies and off his tutor.

Independently, Naru and Keitaro decide to get away from the hurly burly of Tokyo University prep courses and spend some solitary time in Kyoto. But they can't keep from running into each other, and the two eventually end up having to share a room in one of Kyoto's reclusive honeymoon destinations. Begrudgingly, they decide to travel together and, before too long, acquire a third journeyer, the waif-like Mutsumi, who may be making Naru a little jealous. Hot on the trio's tail, the Hinata House honeys quest for their housemates.

After Naru returns from her Kyoto excursion, along with Keitaro and the rest of the Hinata House residents, her disappointment over her performance on the Tokyo University Entrance Exam catches up with her. However, the cherry blossom festivities at Hinata House reminds her that, despite her misfortune, she can count on her housemates to cheer her up. Keitaro, on the other hand, has his own problems dealing with a mischievous, wristwatch-wearing pet turtle, an unsuccessful job hunt, and the discovery of an unsettling photograph. Landlord duties will be the end of him yet!

Volume #5

Even with all the Hinata House habitants pitching in to help at a beach café run by Keitaro's Aunt Haraku, the girls find time for crazy, bikini-clad antics, keeping themselves entertained even as Keitaro and Naru trudge through the awkwardness between them. But the meddling roommates never fail to ease the tension among friends - that is, until an unexpected guest pops up at a summer beach festival. With any luck, Keitaro will come away from the summer beach stay with more than just unpleasent memories!
