Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust Description

In a time where demons, werewolves, vampires, and other creatures of the night rule the world. The monsters rule over human beings as if they were slaves, or even cattle. They pray on humans as if they were nothing more than animals. There is only one man capable, only one man that stands up to these horrific creatures of the night. However, their forces are dwindling, which means these monsters are all the more desperate. And only the truely powerful have surivived.

Similar to how the original started, a young girl is attacked by a powerful vampire. However instead of being bitten, the village girl was kidnapped by one of the few surviving vampires, Meier Link. D is hired, by the girl's daughter, to take down this vampire and retrieve the Charlette, his daughter, dead or alive, as long as she wasn't turned. However, when D finds these two, the plot shifts and D finds himself in interesting situations.

Bloodlust has more than it's fair share of unique characters. This one, Carmilla, is another vampire of great age. However, unlike Meier Link, or Magnus Lee (an enemy of the past), she has not a physical body. She died years ago, but due to her remarkable strength, was able to keep herself in tact without a physical body. This vampire claims to want to help out Meier Link and his love, but it would seem she has other plans. Will she help Meier Link and his love keep their passion for each other for eternity? Or will she betray them for her own selfish wishes? Or is she, in fact, a friend of D that has fooled Meier and his love? There really is never any telling of what will happen in VHD.

D, the Vampire Hunter, is a rare breed. With vampire blood running through his veins, along with human blood, he is incapable to become a real member of either society. Vampires look down on him for the lowly, human blood in him. And humans look down on him as some sort of monster.

This time around it would seem that D has some competition. The Marcus Brothers, as they are called, are a group of hired guns, paid off by Charlette's father to kill the monsters that enslave her. The Marcus Brothers have some unique weapons and techniques. But will they be allies? Or enemies? D had better watch his back.

Vampire Hunter D takes me by storm once again. The first movie was one of the gateway animes that made me hooked from the beginning. And, as one would imagine, I had my doubts that something of that greatness could be remade as a sequel. However, the creators obviously poured their hearts and souls into this movie as it is truely spectacular. The visuals are more than perfect and look so clean and beautuful but also at the same time crisp and frightening. The storyline is a wonder as well, the characters are interesting, the suspense will make one beg for more, and there is never any telling what will happen next in the world of VHD. A mature anime, definatly not intended for the kids, but most certainly is NOT an excuse for bloodshed neither.

D has been hired to track down Meier Link, a notoriously poweful vampire who has abducted a Human woman, Charlotte Elbourne. D's orders are strict - find Charlotte, at any cost. For the first time, D faces some serious competition. The Markus Brothers, a family of Vampire Hunters, were hired for the same bounty. D must intercept Meier and conquer hostile forces on all sides in a deadly race against time. Despised by Vampires for his profession and by Humans for the blood in his veins, D relentlessly persues his pray for a price.
