Vampire Hunter D has a unique style to it that is not like any other anime I have seen. D is a badass vampire hunter and he just oozes of style. All the other characters are quite unique and have their own style as well. Also a point to mention is that VHD, like many other animes, has it's own quirkyness to it. What I mean by this is D's hand. Similar to the Adam's family D's hand is sort of a parasite that has found itself in D. This 'hand' always gives D a hard time and usually makes the audience laugh, he also helps D out every now and then.

The music is very fitting. It really sets the mood and overall atmosphere. However there is no songs that I would just have to get and it is not the type of music that I would just sit down and listen to (like Cowboy Bebop :)). But the music is suitable and I have no major complaints. The voice overs are quite impressive too. I love the sounds of some characters voices. D, The Hand, Doris, and Count Lee all have perfect voices for their parts. As for the rest of the sound I again say no major complaints and overall it is very good.

For its time VHD is a stunning piece of work in itself. But now is not VHD's time is it? Compaired to newer animes VHD looks okay. However all the characters look marvelous and there is not much to complain about. My only gripe is the way Doris looks, her forehead just looks unusually large, its kinda strange. Overall the visual looks great but may be a little outdated campaired to newer animes.

Story 9.5/10

The story to VHD is an epic tale indeed. Born as a half breed of Vampire and Human blood D is despised by Vampires because of his job (he does kill vampires ya know ;)) and hated by humans for the blood in his veins. D kills his own kind in hopes that one day the prejudice of other humans will vanish and he will be accepted as a memeber of society and hopefully live a normal human life. My favorite part about the story is that you always see D in the eyes of others so he looks and seems that much stylish. After all the story starts off with a young gal named Doris, and in a way you see D through her eyes in many parts of the movie. You also only learn about D from other people, such as D's hand, so it gives D more depth and makes the character more interesting. Overall the story is excellent and in my opinion it is the greatest segment of this classic anime.

This anime is indeed a true classic. This is one of the animes that started it all. From the epic storyline, to the mood-setting music, to the stunning visuals, this is a joy to watch. The only major downside is that this anime is outdated so to some the visuals may not seem to great and the story may seem slow to those who are used to animes like DBZ. But overall this is a wonderful anime that no one should miss out on.

Indeed VHD is one of my personal favorite animes. The style is unlike any other I have seen, the story grasps on to you and wont let go until the very end, and the characters are unique. This is one of the first animes I ever had the pleasure of viewing which may be one of the reasons I cherish it so much. One way or another I'll repeat myself just one more time to say this anime is a classic and should not be missed by anyone.
